Confirmed: crypto addiction surpasses ice epidemic in regional towns

Cryptocurrency has replaced the drug ice as the new scourge affecting Australian regional towns, a new report confirms.

“We’ve actually been able to talk to our 27-year-old son for the first time in years,” said Emily Perkins. “It’s the first time he has come out of his bedroom without punching a hole in a wall.”

“He has been glued to his iPhone, though… he’s now into this thing they call crypto,” she said. “The only swings we’ve been receiving are the price movements in Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum, and SquidCoin.”

“It has been a mixed blessing,” she added.

The local publican, who is also quoted in the report, said that the local watering hole is now being used as a “crypto trading floor of the future.”

He says that young men and women now come together to “trade crypto instead of ice”.
